Record number of contagious Iranian corona virus in the past day. 2364 people today were diagnosed with Corona virus as a second wave of the plague strikes the country, which was severely affected by the virus in February and March.
Iranian Health Ministry spokeswoman Kyanush Jahanpur reported daily to media outlets that 648 people were hospitalized for the disease in various parts of the country, others transferred to their homes.
According to official figures, both from the World Health Organization and opposition parties in the country, 8,221 people have died of covid-19 disease in Iran since the outbreak began in the country.
Last month, Iran systematically abolished most of the special restrictions intended to combat Corona and hundreds of thousands participated in religious ceremonies across the country without protection. Now there is concern about another outbreak and due to the country's precarious economic situation the authorities are in no hurry to impose new restrictions.
Iranian officials have urged the public to return to wearing face masks, to avoid unnecessary close visits and to avoid as much public transport as possible.
