Peiting - Where there was a lush green recently, now there is only brown field. The large caterpillar did a great job in the past week and completely plowed the former football pitch next to the Schloßberghalle. The earthworks are part of the extensive renovation that TSV Peiting has commissioned as the owner of the area.

That is sorely needed, says Günther Neureuther. The football field has not been a figurehead that makes kicker hearts beat faster. The TSV President says that the most necessary things have been done on the system. That is why the plans for a comprehensive repair have been running for some time.

Estimated 120,000 euros

And that costs the TSV a lot. According to Neureuther, 120,000 euros have been earmarked for the measure, which the association funded entirely from its own resources. "The site is leveled and a new drainage drain is installed," he explains. Because of the high amount, which is not common in a large club like the TSV, the president certainly needed the delegates' okay. But that was not so easy given the Corona crisis. "This was only possible using the online process," said Neureuther.

Due to the current situation, construction work could also start earlier than planned. “We originally wanted to wait for the market championship in mid-June,” says the president. But because this cannot take place for known reasons, the heavy machines started after the Pentecost weekend. The president estimates that it will take six weeks before the renovation is completed and the space is ready.

Fence is supposed to protect space

So that the then perfect conditions are affected as little as possible in the future, the system should also be secured with a fence against unauthorized entry. In the past, the football field was often used by pedestrians and even cyclists as a shortcut from Jahnstrasse to Schloßberghalle, Neureuther knows. The housing should put a stop to this.

A floodlight system, on the other hand, is not planned, the president gives a clear rejection of the rumors. “This is simply not possible with a place in the residential area. Otherwise I would thank you as a neighbor. "

New changing rooms are still ongoing

So while the Schloßberghalle is busy, the two new football fields in the former gravel pit are still quiet. This is where the new changing rooms are to be built this year, the construction of which will be undertaken by the municipality. "Actually, we wanted to be ready by summer," says Mayor Peter Ostenrieder when asked by the SN. But because of the many construction projects in the municipality, where time is short, the project has not yet been started. "We hope that we can get it done this year."
