Due to the enormous amount of excursion traffic, the police have recently also increased their presence in Jachenau - which in principle naturally welcomes the community.
Jachenau - Mayor Klaus Rauchberger also reported in the recent council meeting that there is a small side effect that is less welcome. Because not only wild parked day tourists found parking tickets on the windshield at Pentecost, but also one or the other Jachenauer.
Background: According to the will of the community, locals do not actually have to pay at the hiking parking lots, which are subject to charges. This applies in particular to the parking lot at the "Schützenhaus", where the local churchgoers also park their cars. "We don't want people to get a ticket when they are at a funeral, for example," Rauchberger explains. The Jachenauer cars can be recognized by the fact that they have a sticker with the coat of arms on their windshield. The employees of the special-purpose association, which the municipality has entrusted with the park surveillance, also know about this - but not the police, for whom such a sticker has no legal significance.
Jachenau doubles the parking fee
Rauchberger now wants to speak to the police and the traffic authorities again. The aim is to find a safe solution to enable the locals to park for free, for example through a residential parking regulation.
