After all, it took two full weeks for the SPD to find the same racism that led to the death of George Floyd in the USA in the ranks of the German police. The impression that "the police corps spirit" plays a greater role in the German security forces than the rights of citizens should not be created, SPD chairwoman Saskia Esken is outraged at times as a prophylactic. And calls for an "independent review of violence and racism" by the German police.
Now it can be assumed that the virus of racism has infected individual officials in this country, as is the case in other parts of society. And it is good if colleagues and superiors take events in the US as an opportunity to take a closer look at us in the future. But there is no evidence of systemic racism, which Esken simply assumed, or a general problem of violence among the security forces. In its generality, the accusation is reminiscent of the "group-related misanthropy" that a study by the LMU recently attested to large parts of the Bavarian population. According to the motto: If you only ask suggestively enough, you will find evidence of the assumed moral degradation of the people.
Ms. Esken suspects that what applies to the normal population must apply even more to the police. But the scandal that the comrade-in-chief wants to fight again on horseback is first of all in the imagination of a politician who, as a self-appointed member of Antifa, believes the state and its forces can do no harm.
