Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's internal and external policies that Turkish politicians recently described as reckless that led to stifling financial and economic crises within his country as well as his failure to deal with the Corona pandemic and his support for terrorism in Syria and the countries of the region have led to a steady decline in the popularity of his "Justice and Development" party In favor of opposition parties and newly formed parties, according to opinion polls revealed in Turkey.

The Turkish Survey Foundation "Cunda" confirmed, according to what the Turkish media published today, that the popular support for the Justice and Development Party reached its lowest level to less than 30 percent last February, a month before the country recorded the first cases of coronavirus infection and is in continuous decline.

The Chairman of the Foundation, Bekir Adairdir, pointed out that the reasons for the continuous decline in the popularity of the Justice and Development Party is its permanent cause of stirring tensions and crises for the Turks, after its method has been focused on fighting and liquidating its opponents at home and abroad to justify its policies, pointing out that the “Deva and the Future” parties founded by the former Minister of Economy Ali Babacan and former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu Bata threaten the base of supporters of the ruling Justice and Development Party, stressing further that by the end of this year both parties will be eligible to contest the elections.

On his part, Kamal Ozkiraz, head of research at the Eurasia Foundation, affirmed that the Justice and Development Party alone cannot be in power with only 34.49 percent of the vote, while its partner, the National Movement Party, will not succeed in overcoming the electoral threshold by a vote of 8.15 percent, while in return, The Republican people received 30.65 percent of the vote, according to an opinion poll that revealed the continued progress of the country's largest opposition party.

The German newspaper Berliner Zeitung recently revealed that the Justice and Development Party was unable to win a majority in any major poll conducted last month, while the opposition topped the results by up to 58 percent.

In the context, a new opinion poll conducted by the Turkish company, Pierre Research, showed that the mayors of the Turkish opposition parties won the first positions of the most successful mayors in Turkey, which reflects the extent of the Turkish people's satisfaction with the performance of the opposition parties.

Selim Cevik, a political analyst at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs expected that, on his part, he would shake the support that was transferred to both Babacan and Davutoglu and even if he was young, the political situation in Turkey at a time when all the polls that were conducted during May in Turkey on the possibility of organizing Early parliamentary and presidential elections fading votes from supporters of the Justice and Development Party and its ally, the National Movement Party, in favor of opposition parties, including new parties.

In the wake of declining support for him in recent opinion polls, Erdogan's party plans to push with its national allies with measures that will affect the way political groups contest the upcoming elections, and could stand in the way of the participation of new opposition parties in any early elections, while observers believe that the defection of two of the most prominent Erdogan's former allies, who have formed two separate parties in recent months to compete with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), will lead to the prospect of the AK Party losing that election.
