The Special Representative of the Russian President for the countries of the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with the Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Dr. Riyad Haddad today the developments of the situation in and around Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Bogdanov reaffirmed during the meeting his country's firm support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, stressing the continued active Russian support for Syria in combating international terrorism.
The statement added that the two sides also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the economic and humanitarian fields in a manner that serves to accelerate the reconstruction of Syria.
