Lod District Court on Tuesday heard the parties at the stage of the plea for Amiram Ben Oliel's sentence, convicted last month of the Dawabsha family's murder in what has been dubbed a "Jewish attack in Duma". The prosecution has asked the court to sentence the defendant to three cumulative life sentences for three murders, and another 40 years for his conviction for two felony counts of attempted murder. The court ruled that the sentence would be granted later.

Apart from the prison sentence demanded by the prosecutor's office, another demand was raised today, which is that the Dawabsha family will distribute the full amount of money it deserves under the law. On the other hand, Ben Oliel's defense lawyers argued: "Regardless of the prosecution's request, we are already working on an appeal to the Supreme Court," where, they claim, his conviction that the conviction should be replaced by a credit.

The court also heard testimony from his grandfather, Hussein Dawabasha, who told the family about the situation since the incident: "We have not recovered yet. Another family in the courtroom, the prosecution said today was a serious act and that the murders were due to hatred of Arabs and not, and revenge for the murder of Malachi Rosenfeld, in a shooting attack by a Hamas squad near the Kida junction, near Duma, in June 2015.

An unusual incident preceded the debate today, when a clash broke out in the courtroom between Knesset Member Ahmed Tibi and his wife, Ben Oliel. Tibi blamed her that "your husband has to rot in prison. He burned an entire family."

One of Ben Oliel's main arguments, which he claims is the basis for an appeal to the Supreme Court, is the very training of the confession he gave, after he was tortured. As we recall, in June 2019, the court ruled that Ben Oliel's confession could be based on the guilt given in the restoration, but the other allegedly charged confessions under violence are unacceptable.

Therefore, it was then determined that a trial in which he was charged with a murder offense could continue. In July last year, the prosecutor's court recommended that she return from the indictment of a terrorist organization. She did not return, though Ben-Oriel was finally acquitted of a terrorist group membership.
