US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said he was "concerned" by current President Donald Trump's attempt to "steal" the presidential election next November, while expressing his confidence that Army soldiers "will accompany Trump from the White House" if he loses and does not acknowledge the outcome.
"Trump will try to steal the elections ... This is my biggest concern," Biden said in an interview broadcast late on the "The Daily Show," without specifying the way in which he believes Trump may resort to tampering with the elections.
Biden cited Trump's opposition to the postal vote and said, "Democrats will have attorneys present at voting sites across the country to monitor any Republican attempts to rig the vote."
Trump repeatedly attacked mail voting by announcing without evidence that the expected increase in mail voting would lead to widespread fraud in the November 3 election.
Biden said recent comments by former senior military officials who criticized Trump's response to protests over police brutality made him "confident that the US military would intervene if Trump refused to accept the election results" and said: "I am absolutely convinced that they will take him out of the White House quickly and decisively." ”
Biden has previously expressed concern that Trump will try to rig the elections, but his speech has escalated recently as most polls show that the former vice president is ahead of the current president.
