Help from as many craft enthusiasts as possible: this is what the Evangelical Youth from Geretsried is looking for. In order to set an example of the community, the young people start a hands-on campaign.
Geretsried - Everyone knows the little caterpillar who is fed up with all sorts of things - her little sister from Geretsried is still somewhat unknown. But that is about to change, with the help of many handicraft enthusiasts.
Geretsried: Help from handicraft enthusiasts wanted
The Evangelische Jugend Geretsried has called for a participation. "Toilet paper has gained tremendous importance in the past few weeks," the young people write on a large piece of paper attached to a tree in front of the Petruskirche.
"Now that we as a community can only get together in a very limited way, we want to use a toilet paper roll caterpillar to set an example of community."
Sign of community: A caterpillar made of toilet paper rolls
For this purpose, a string with a caterpillar head was stretched between two trees. "Anyone who wants to participate can bring and thread on a painted, handcrafted, glued or described toilet paper roll."
The more colorfully designed cardboard rolls come together, the longer the community caterpillar becomes. "This is how we show that something can also happen in community, but with the necessary distance."
