Brazil crossed the threshold of 40,000 deaths from the new coronavirus and the 800,000 confirmed cases on Thursday, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health.

This country of 212 million inhabitants has recorded 40,919 deaths, including 1,239 in the last 24 hours, and 802,828 contaminations, the second highest figure in the world after the United States.
