The administrative court of Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) rejected Thursday for “formal defect” the appeal deposited by a group of parents of pupils of Aubervilliers who demanded the reopening of all the primary schools and a reception more regular children.

The request which was presented before the court did not contain the addresses of the members of the “apolitical” collective which brings together around thirty parents of elected pupils, in different schools, indicates the collective in a press release. “Parents are not used to this kind of action. Our only interest is that of families and children in our neighborhoods, ” explains the group, which will have to pay 1000 euros to the municipality of Aubervilliers to pay the court costs.

In their summary procedure (emergency procedure) filed on Monday, the parents of pupils criticized the communist municipality for the reception arrangements which only allow “too few children to go to school” , which in their view constitutes an “illegal attack” on education. Since Tuesday, 14 nursery and elementary schools have reopened in Aubervilliers with the establishment of a rotation system for students, "said the municipality in a press release. "The health protocol not being lifted, the National Education Department has set the threshold at 50 pupils per site" but this "threshold could be reviewed in the coming days, according to the demands of the National Education, notably thanks to the opening of other sites in the town, ” assured Mayor Meriem Derkaoui, who is also a candidate for re-election on June 28.

But the group of parents of students estimates that in reality, many children will not see their class more than once or twice in June. An organization incompatible with pedagogical continuity and the need to “re-socialize” , he denounces. The violation of the right to education had been retained in a similar case brought last month before this same court.

A pupil's mother from Bobigny, also a municipal opposition councilor, had filed an appeal to request the reopening of the nursery schools, initially closed until September by the centrist municipality. She had finally offered to reopen three kindergartens from Monday. Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer has assured that all schools will reopen in June. But in the majority of cases, student volunteers are only partially accommodated there at best.
