A 10-day-old baby to Syrian parents living in Cyprus was flown yesterday for emergency surgery in Israel after a serious heart failure was discovered.
The flight took place in a unique ambulance plane, and the complex operation began after cooperation between the Israeli Embassy in Nicosia and the Cyprus Ministry of Health, and Israeli and Cypriot doctors.
Israeli Ambassador to Cyprus Sami Rebel told Israel Today: "This is a Syrian baby born with a rare heart defect. She was contacted by the Cypriot Ministry of Health and received all necessary permits from the Israeli authorities.
