Update from Tuesday, June 9th, 2020, 7:20 pm: During the police investigation into the fatal accident ( Kassel district ) yesterday (Monday, June 8th, 2020), evidence about the course of the accident was found on the basis of information from witnesses. Accordingly, the motorcyclist is said to have overtaken another vehicle immediately before the head-on collision with the bus. It is currently still unclear whether the possible overtaking process was the cause of the accident and is the subject of further investigations.
In order to be able to clarify this, the investigators are now urgently looking for the driver of the allegedly overhauled car, since this person is not yet known to the police . The overhauled car is said to have been a larger, SUV-like car. Unfortunately, other characteristics of the vehicle are currently unknown. According to the current status of the investigation, there are no indications that the driver of this vehicle was involved in the fatal accident. However, the person is sought as an important witness and asked to report to the Hofgeismar police station on Tel. 05671 - 99280 or to the North Hesse Police Headquarters on Tel. 0561 - 9100 .

Update from Monday, June 8th, 2020, 9.07pm: Today Monday (June 8th, 2020 ) a serious accident occurred on Kreisstraße 47 , between Grebenstein-Burguffeln and Calden (district of Kassel ). As the officers of the Hofgeismar police station reported, the identity of the fatally injured motorcyclist has now been clarified.

It is a 59-year-old from Vellmar. At 1:05 p.m. on his way from Calden to Burguffeln (district of Kassel ) on the country road, for an unknown cause, he collided head-on with an oncoming bus and was fatally injured.
The 53-year-old driver of the bus was also injured in the accident and taken to a hospital in Kassel . Passengers were not harmed. Both the bus and the motorcycle had been severely damaged.
