Tragic corona fate in Westphalia: A 30-year-old died in a clinic, as the Unna health office now announced.

  • Tragic Coronavirus * death in Lünen: A 30-year-old died as a result of infection with Covid-19.
  • The young man was already recovered.
  • Corona deaths in this age group are relatively rare.
  • Here you will find the basic facts about the corona virus * and the current number of cases in Germany as a map *.

Lünen - It is an insidious disease. This shows a case from North Rhine-Westphalia . A 30-year-old died in Lünen, Westphalia , and is the youngest Corona dead man in the Unna district.

Coronavirus: Patient (30) was already cured at the health department

District spokesman Max Rolke said at the request of the Ruhr Nachrichten"He was already infected at the end of April and had been recovering since the end of the quarantine in mid-May."  There was no other report to the office.

But on Monday the 30-year-old died in connection with the coronavirus in a hospital. The news of the death reached the health authority on Tuesday. Corona: Deaths in younger patients are exceptions - RKI gives new figures on the age structure

Deaths in this age group are rare. However, the age structure of those infected in Germany is changing. According to the Robert Koch Institute *, the proportion of people over the age of 80 in the corona infected has been falling continuously since May. "In comparison, the proportion of cases in the younger age groups between 0 and 29 years increases," says the current management report.

Statistically, only 18.8 percent of those infected in Germany are 70 years or older - however, they account for 86 percent of deaths. The largest groups of those infected are people aged 20 to 49 years (43 percent) and between 50 and 69 years (31 percent). Only 6.8 percent of those infected are children and adolescents up to 19 years of age. According to the cases registered by the RKI, there have been 21 deaths in the age group between 30 and 39 years, and nine in the age group 20 to 29 (as of June 10).

The Hamburg medical examiner Klaus Püschel * also supports the thesis that a large part of the deceased did not die, but died with the coronavirus, and thus their previous illnesses were the cause. He assumes that the patients have only died prematurely *, but already - even unnoticed - had such significant previous illnesses that the infection was not decisive for their death.
