Italy recorded 53 new deaths from the Coruna virus today, compared to 71 deaths yesterday.
Reuters quoted Italy's Civil Protection Agency as saying that the total number of deaths since the outbreak began in February rose to 34,167, the fourth highest death toll in the world after the United States, Britain and Brazil.
The agency noted that 379 new cases of the virus were recorded, compared to 202 yesterday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 236,142 cases, which is the seventh highest death toll in the world after the United States, Russia, Brazil, Spain, Britain and India.
