Karlsfeld - After several months of renovation work, the first meeting took place in the newly renovated meeting room in Karlsfeld town hall - the twelve-member main and finance committee met (we reported). Due to the distance rules, municipal council meetings are currently not possible in the new meeting room, and meetings are still held in the ballroom of the community center.
Anyone entering the boardroom on the third floor of the town hall will immediately notice the large new council table. The hall also received a state-of-the-art technology package including video and audio equipment. A powerful projector was also purchased. A ventilation system with a cooling function was also installed. The total cost is 450,000 euros.
Because the municipality of Karlsfeld exceeded the 20,000 population limit a few years ago, the municipal council also grew, according to the statutes of the Bavarian municipal code, from 24 to currently 30 members.
In November 2018, the main committee of the municipal council agreed that not only should a new and larger council table be purchased, but that extensive renovation and modernization work should also be carried out on the occasion.
Seven months later, the first reliable cost estimate was available, which astonished the municipal councils. The conversion was by no means to be done for 300,000 euros, as had been assumed. Depending on the effort and equipment, costs between 449,000 and 514,000 euros must be expected, the planner announced at the time. The committee members immediately agreed to forego some things in order to save costs, such as new chairs and wood paneling on the walls. In addition to the meetings of the local council, the room can now also be optimally used for lectures and training. dn
