The male defendant Liang Baiying (25 years old, administrative assistant) was charged with three counts of dishonest access to the computer, intentional dishonest access to the computer, and criminal damage. The charge is that he accessed, intended to access and damaged the computer server of the Hong Kong Police Force on June 12, last year. The server was connected to the "Safe Home Police Intranet". It is understood that the defendant suspected multiple intrusions into the intranet, but not every success; while the crime of criminal damage meant that he misused the police server, the defendant did not cause actual damage.
