"In the past twelve weeks, our family has grown together even more," says Diana Ober about the Corona period.
St. Wolfgang– What the corona lockdown does to the families, we demonstrated on April 27 with the help of the Ober family on St. Wolfgang: the children because of the school closings at home, as well as the grandpa because the day care against Covid-19 had to foreclosure. Even the outpatient nursing service stopped coming for weeks.
"We have seen how important cohesion is"
How are the tops today? Much better! “In the past twelve weeks, our family has grown together even more. We have seen how important cohesion is, ”reports Diana Ober. The 43-year-old was a mother, 24-hour manager of the six-person household, teacher, chauffeur and geriatric nurse in one. Now she can catch her breath again. The nursing service has been coming back since May 11 to look after the 88-year-old grandpa Johann, who suffers from dementia. Since May 18, he has been brought back to day care in the Marienstift Dorfen.
Everyday life is gradually returning to life
Diana Ober is grateful that "we received a lot of support during these difficult weeks". For example from District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer. Husband Hans Ober is his driver. "He always sent my husband home when the roster allowed," she says. "This allowed my husband to lend a hand at home more often."
The 43-year-old also praises day care and nursing services. “Despite the lockdown, they were a great help, they kept asking us how we were doing. Conversely, we could turn to these facilities if we didn't know what to do next. ”
Everyday life is also increasingly returning to the lives of the Obers, which stands for many families in Erdinger Land. The sons Simon (8) and Florian (13) can go to school at least on a daily or weekly basis. And mothers like Diana Ober finally have more time for themselves again.
