" This case had been dismissed and there was a reopening of information on new development in July 2019, " said the prosecutor of the Republic, Emmanuelle Lepissier.
The disappearance of Nicole Richard, a nurse in her thirties who " died of a gunshot ", dates back to January 12, 1982 in Maillé, a rural commune of a few hundred inhabitants located between La Rochelle and La Roche- on-Yon.
" There have been a number of investigations on letters rogatory and as part of these investigations there have been a number of hearings, there have been people who have been placed in police custody on 9 and 10 (June 2020, editor's note) and there is one person who was referred on Wednesday ", detailed Emmanuelle Lepissier.
This person, aged about sixty, is a relative of the victim, she added without giving more details, stressing that " there is a presumption of innocence which is all the more important as 'we are still 38 years after the facts . This man was placed under judicial supervision with a ban on traveling to Maillé and the obligation to reside in another department.
