Hair - Every other day, Torsten Wiegel goes swimming in the outdoor swimming pool in Haar. Always between three and five kilometers. So usually. Wiegl and all other swimmers had to get by without their beloved water for three months. On Corpus Christi, the Haarer Bad opened again as one of the first in the greater Munich area, although under strict hygiene regulations. Wiegel didn't care. He was among the first to finally get back into the water shortly after 10. His conclusion: "It was just wonderful."

At the end of May, the Free State gave the green light for the opening of the outdoor pools. Since then, the Haar pool team has been able to open it on Corpus Christi. It actually takes the staff four weeks to “winterize” the outdoor pool: cleaning the pool, refilling chlorine, checking the technology, taking in fresh water and heating it up, all of which take more time than the layman would imagine. A hygiene concept was also needed.

Animal bathers: Two ducks make their rounds on the covered warm water children's pool. As soon as the temperature rises above 22 degrees, it is released.

This stipulates that every visitor must enter their contact details. This serves to prevent and protect health so that guests who have been in contact with an infected person can be reached and tested quickly. Showers are only operated with cold water between the pools; only every second one is open in the changing rooms. Slides, diving boards and the toddler pool remain completely closed. On the first day, only the large swimmer pool with lawn and sand playground was released. A maximum of 80 bathers are allowed in the large pool. "There are a few restrictions, but on the whole the swimmers can come back," beamed the deputy bath manager Sante Ciavarella (45), who has been working in the bath for 20 years. At the late start of the season, he welcomed around 25 guests in the morning. The changeable weather probably prevented a mass rush.

"I missed swimming so much"

Anna Kager came to Haar especially from Munich and was greeted by Sante Ciavarella while disinfecting her hands. She says: "I missed swimming so much."

Anna Kager is one of the swimmers. She came from the state capital by bike. "I missed swimming so much and in Munich almost all of the pools are still closed, so I'm in Haar and will swim my 30 lanes," says Kager after disinfecting her hands and entering the list.

Especially at lunchtime, "that it is not so full," is Nicole Kewitz from Ottobrunn with her son Miguel (13), who is not allowed to go to the bathroom by himself under the age of 14. "Finally swimming again, my son is a competitive swimmer and has been dry for three months now - we totally enjoy it today," says Kewitz and quickly calls the son the passage time for his swum course. Even though the swimming clubs have canceled all competitions this year to the great regret of Kewitz, "we can finally get started again". Then mom also dives into the cool water.
