Here's how it continues: “Another construction phase, namely the construction of the roof structure and the installation of the facade, will start in summer 2020. This should be completed by winter so that the building is sealed before the cold period sets in. ”
The roof truss should also be ready in summer - usually the topping-out ceremony. It seems unlikely that there will be one: "Unfortunately, due to the current corona situation, this has to be dropped," explains Barbara Beck. The corona crisis also has other consequences, she says. Among other things, materials were not always available on time because supply chains from abroad were interrupted. “And there are increased hygiene requirements for all work, which must be observed and implemented on the construction site. The companies have already announced additional costs for this. "

When building the district office, costs are an exciting topic almost from day one. As reported, the project has become more expensive several times. The latest budget was 22.5 million euros. In the spring of 2016, the frame was at a first reasonably reliable figure of 14.6 million euros. Finally, due to the construction industry, the district had to add another 1.5 million to just 22.5 million. The new cost increases have not yet been given figures.
The district hopes to be able to keep to the schedule despite the corona pandemic - but it has already been updated, because in October 2019 the spring 2021 was still in the pipeline. In the meantime it will be autumn 2021. "If there are no unexpected difficulties when placing public construction contracts, the further implementation can be carried out on time in accordance with the planned construction times," explains Barbara Beck to the stand Winter, the interior work by summer 2021. The spokeswoman: "We are and remain optimistic and can follow the progress of the construction work every day by looking out the window."
The extension is necessary because the district authority employees are currently spread over several locations in Starnberg, which, with the exception of the main building from 1987, cost all rent. Up to 160 employees are to have their jobs in the cultivation. In total, the district has over 550 employees. When the old building was built 35 years ago, there were 270.
