The Birkenstein hiking car park in Fischbachau shows how big . Mayor Johannes Lohwasser is having a photo shoot when the bus suddenly gets stuck. "Two parking bans blocked him," reports Lohwasser. The police have to help. "If the passage is blocked, we tow," says the spokesman. "If you get through, we give you parking tickets." The officials try to control all the places. But they cannot be everywhere at the same time. And they are stuck in traffic.

The traffic jam also affects those who arrive by public transport. Georg Weinert (40) is one of around 200 passengers waiting in vain for the replacement rail traffic in Schliersee at 9 a.m. Born in Schliersee, who now lives in Munich, traveled with the Bavarian Regional Railway (BRB). Because of construction sites, this currently only goes to Schliersee. The rest of the route to Bayrischzell is covered by rail replacement transport (SEV). With this Wagner wanted to go hiking in the mountains. However, because the train had already left Munich crowded and the boarding and alighting took longer, the BRB in Schliersee was late - and missed the SEV, explains BRB managing director Fabian Amini. The BRB has sent more buses for reinforcement. But they are also stuck in traffic.

So Weinert and the other passengers wait at the train station without any information . The BRB hotline also does not know when the buses will make it through the traffic jam. Some day trippers therefore walk towards Neuhaus to find a bus. "There was a migration of people along the main road," reports Weinert. "That can't be the goal." After waiting an hour, he gets on the bus to Spitzingsee . On the way, the rail replacement meets him.

"It's a shame," says Weinert, who as a native Oberlandler and now from Munich knows both sides. “People complain about tourists mainly because of the traffic . But if you want to do better and drive a train, you will be punished. ”There is no reliance on the SEV in the district.

A rush of day trippers is also expected in Bavaria the rest of the weekend. Mountain bikers are worried in some places.
