A British study revealed that some colds may protect the emerging coronavirus and give immunity to the body.

According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, the new study showed that those who were previously infected with colds caused by viruses from the Coronavirus family of coronavirus, known as betakuruna, may have immunity to Covid 19 disease or may develop it slightly.

The study showed that betakuruna viruses cause many common colds and acute respiratory infections in young patients and the elderly, noting that these viruses have the same genetic traits as the emerging coronavirus, SARS and MERS virus.

According to the study, the immunity that was generated after catching a common cold may last for many years due to what is known as the memory of a type of white blood cell that forms part of the human immune system and represents the second line of defense against any viral attack and begins its activity after about a week of infection.

The new Corona virus has killed more than 423,000 people worldwide since its appearance last December, and according to the World Meters website that tracks the developments of the virus around the world, 7582377 cases have been recorded and 423075 people have died in 196 countries and regions since the outbreak began, while 3832975 people have recovered.
