One crisis chasing the other, the health lull has given way to the outbreak of racial tensions imported from the United States. After the legitimate emotion caused by the death of George Floyd under the knee of a Minnesota policeman, the demonstrations succeed one another in France where the Black lives matter movement is trying to gain a foothold. In these mobilizations submerged by anti-racist groups, a separatist rhetoric is imposed, coupled with a historical revisionism which would like to make Colbert and Napoleon slavers, and Jules Ferry a racist.
The movement is spreading in Europe. Like those of Christopher Columbus in the United States, the statues of Churchill in Great Britain, of missionaries in Lisbon or of Leopold II in Belgium have been vandalized.
