Berlin (dpa) - Within 24 hours, the health authorities in Germany reported 348 new infections with the coronavirus to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Since the beginning of the Corona crisis, 186,022 people in Germany have demonstrably contracted Sars-CoV-2, as the RKI reported on Friday morning (data status 13.6. 0 o'clock).

According to RKI, 8781 people infected with the virus died in Germany - an increase of 18 compared to the previous day. RKI estimates that around 171,900 people survived the infection. That is 300 more than the day before.

The number of reproductions, or R-value for short, is still below the critical mark of 1.0 at 0.87 (data status 12.6. 0 o'clock). This means that an infected person infects less than another person on average. The R value shows the infection process approximately one and a half weeks beforehand. The previous day it was 0.88.

Since mid-May, the RKI has also been issuing a so-called seven-day R. It refers to a longer period and is therefore less subject to daily fluctuations. According to RKI estimates, this value (data status 12.6. 0 o'clock) was last at 1.04 (previous day: 0.99). It shows the infection from 8 to 16 days ago.
