Gdf Catania seizes bluefin tuna for over a ton

Six specimens of bluefin tuna, with a total weight of 1,120 kilograms, were seized by the finance guard in Catania. The catch was in a van vehicle that was stopped by the yellow flames for a check in the seafaring area of ​​Acitrezza, a hamlet of Aci Castello. The driver and the occupant of the vehicle were unable to provide the documentation required by specific Community and national legislation for bluefin tuna, which serves to identify the origin of the fish product. The seizure was therefore triggered with the consequent contestation of an administrative sanction. The six tuna seized after being viewed by the veterinarians of the Asp of Catania have been declared not intended for human consumption and delivered to landfills for destruction at the expense of those responsible.
