In the endosperm harvest operations began in chickpea within the sites grown early in the western region of the governorate.

The director of the endosperm agriculture, Ayham Hamid, said in a statement to SANA correspondent today that the harvesting of chickpeas takes place manually and extends successively to the rest of the regions during the coming days to include the entire cultivated areas amounting to 29697 hectares.

Eng. Hamed pointed out that the reality of the crop is generally good despite the fact that some cultivated areas were affected by high temperatures during the past weeks, indicating that the initial production estimates at the governorate level amounted to 10254 tons.

The chickpea crop is one of the main crops in the endosperm governorate, knowing that the majority of its cultivated varieties are spring and grown with baala.
