"You are a colossal disappointment": Harry Potter author JK Rowling is said to be malevolent

Munich - The "Harry Potter" writer Joanne K. Rowling has a very active Twitter channel . Actually, things have been going harmoniously there in the past few weeks. During the corona pandemic, Rowling began publishing chapters of their new book  “The Ickabog” for free every week . She called on children to draw what they read and post it on Twitter. Rowling has since eagerly shared pictures painted by children.

But on Saturday (June 6th) JK Rowling criticized an inclusive term for people who menstruate, which in turn caused them to take criticism. Even “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliff got involved.

The whole thing started with a tweet . JK Rowling shared an article entitled  "Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate " ("Opinion: Designing a more just post-corona world for people who menstruate") of the social Corporate devex . The organization is committed to health progress and development work.

"Harry Potter" author: Daniel Radcliff reports on transphobia allegations

"'People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people . Someone help me out. Bowing? Wimpund? Woomud? (Engl .: People who menstruate. I am sure there was a word for these people. Can someone help me?), the author tweeted, noting critically that people who menstruate are simply as Women could be called.

The authors of the Devex article explain that the corona pandemic * poses a special challenge for menstruating men, since access to water, soap, hygiene products and private retreats has been limited by the lockdown in many countries. The authors including language and named women, girls and people with non-binary gender identities were used as "people who menstruate".

"Harry Potter" writer: Trans-critical tweet went through the roof

Rowling's tweet received immense attention. Over 30,000 comments, over 10,000 retweets and over 70,000 likes (as of June 9) can be found under the text contribution. " Why are you doing this? " Asked a user.

" Hi! I'm a man! I menstruate! Stop being an A *! Zeke Smith wrote . In response, the author sold a signed copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," as he explained on Twitter. " Jesus Christ, you are a colossal disappointment, " commented Liam Dryden .

JK Rowling is hostile to trans on Twitter

JK Rowling resisted the accusation of being trans-hostile with numerous new tweets. She said that she had read a lot about transsexuality, had a lesbian friend, and described herself as empathetic to transsexuals.

She also wrote that gender rejection would include rejection of homosexuality. It would also question the concept of transsexuality.

If sex isn't real, there's no same-sex attraction. If sex isn't real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn't hate to speak the truth.

The Harry Potter author, however, does not seem to be able to save herself in this way. The author Zeke Smith replied again. He explained that he was trans and with a man . He asked if JK Rowling wouldn't call the two gay couples.

I'm a gay man! That's my boyfriend! Together, we're an internationally recognized gay couple! I'm trans! He's not! But we're both legally men! We could only be married so long as "same-sex marriage" is legal! Even though we have different genitals! Are you saying we're not gay?!? pic.twitter.com/1AWN18ZDqu

- Zeke Smith (@zekerchief) June 6, 2020

JK Rowling actually seems to have gotten a little lost with her tweet. Because inclusive language, which also refers to non-binary people and trans men who can also menstruate, does not question the gender concept, just as it does not question the concepts of homosexual and transsexuality.

JK Rowling teases in LGTBQ scene: Daniel Radcliff answers

This looks even Daniel Radcliffe way. In a letter posted on The Trevor Project website, Radcliff said he felt he needed to speak out. He explained that trans women are women and that denying this fact questions the identity and dignity of transgender people. A professional health organization has significantly more expertise in this area than JK Rowling or himself.

Radcliff also wrote that it was important to him that his statement should not be understood as a fight against Rowling . He expresses himself as a person who has long campaigned for the rights of trans and homosexuals.
