Since the beginning of March, the team at the Cordobar youth center has had unusual tasks: supporting the Germeringer Tafel, shopping for neighborhood help, sewing masks.
Germering - The closest thing to the usual pedagogical work is the support of a counseling number for children, adolescents and parents who are or are looking for a conversation in the corona crisis.
But telephoning does not replace personal contact and especially not the space that is otherwise available to young people. On Monday, June 15th, the youth center can finally open again - of course subject to conditions. The other facilities for open child and youth work in the city will then open their gates again: the adventure playground, the youth workshop, the youth center on Aubinger Weg and the street worker position.
The corona concept
A detailed hygiene concept was developed for the reopening of the facilities. For the Cordobar, this means that the number of visitors is limited to a maximum of 20. This is checked by issuing tickets against a deposit (ID card, key or similar). The name, address and telephone number are registered and kept for four weeks. Masks are mandatory in the building. If you don't have one, you can borrow one again for a deposit. Disinfectant is ready, seating is pushed apart, pictograms and floor markings indicate distance and hygiene rules. If someone does not abide by it, head Erwin Zißelsberger announces: "We reserve the right to temporarily ban our young people from living if these rules are not observed."
Because of the Corona requirements, the pedagogical concept of the Cordobar must also be adapted. Zißelsberger: "Usually we are not always present in all rooms in order to give our visitors some freedom - now only rooms that are continuously supervised by our team can be used." It is still not foreseeable how many young people the offer despite the strict requirements.
In any case, the Cordobar manager promises: “If you want to come to us to talk, to meet friends at a distance or to play billiards again, you can do that now. And we are really looking forward to finally having life in the booth again. ”Outdoor activities, for example as part of the JBS active program, can now take place again in part.
