The corona crisis posed a huge challenge for creative artists. The ambush mastered them with flying colors - with live streams.

Gelting - The Corona pandemic turned the 2020 event calendar upside down so that all the dates fell out. But there was resistance from Gelting. Despite or thanks to the crisis, a completely new program was created in the Kulturbühne Hinterhalt. Since the beginning of April, readings and concerts have been broadcast via live stream to households interested in culture almost every weekend. The offer in this form should be unique in the area.

"We are the cultural stronghold in the district," says operator Assunta Tammelleo. With "Kolossus Däächt" a punk band from Regensburg recently came to Gelting. Silke Aichhorn will perform on Friday, June 19, and will travel to Lake Chiemsee with music for her cabaret reading. Even the greats Christian Springer (Friday, August 7) and Konstantin Wecker (Wednesday, August 19) have announced. "I would never have dared to dream that," says Tammelleo.

The ambush host attributes the fact that the live streams from the ambush draw such circles, mainly because of the technical quality. In the meantime, three cameras have been filmed. "This is only possible because three fabulous boys do it on a voluntary basis," explains Tammelleo. Her “technique angels” are Thorsten Thane from Wolfratshausen (camera), Hendrik Noeller from Munich, formerly Gelting (sound and light) and Marius Hammerschmied from Geretsried (sound and light).

In addition, Daniel Schüssler from the Infoteq company, which is located above the ambush, always runs a line from his office window to the stage entrance. "Otherwise we could not broadcast." Other regional companies, private individuals and members of the Kulturverein Isar-Loisach (KIL) also support the live streams. Tammelleo appreciates this cohesion. "The situation is serious, but we are lucky as far as possible."

The viewers honor the effort that is being carried out in the ambush. While the artists appear there as if they were playing in front of a large audience, even though they are only facing cameras and the “technology angels”, around 100 spectators sit in front of their laptops or smartphones each time. "I get the feedback that it is fun to watch a glass of wine at home," said Tammelleo. The live streams remain available on YouTube even after the concert or reading, so that some videos now have over 1000 views. The “Tribute to Oskar” memorial evening with around 2200 spectators is the front-runner.

Instead of asking for admission to the virtual cultural events, the Kulturbühne is asking for donations. "It's going better than expected," says Tammelleo. “Tribute to Oskar” collected for the funeral costs of blues drummer Oskar Pöhnl. 2600 euros have already been received. "It's just beautiful." At the other concerts, the money is shared between artists and technicians. The willingness to donate depends on the level of awareness of the artists, but so far they have always received more than expected. "It shows the artists that we don't forget them."

The four-digit amount that accrues every month for the operation of the cultural stage - whether with or without events - can still be paid, says Tammelleo. "Let's see how much longer." But she is happy that the ambush is being used sensibly.

From next Monday, June 15th, cultural events with 50 people inside or 100 people outdoors will be allowed again in compliance with the distance rules. "Normal game play is not possible under the circumstances," says Tammelleo. She could then only sell a few tickets. Therefore, she wants to continue offering the live streams. Maybe one or the other place concert can be organized. "Somehow it will pass. Even if looking into the future can make one despondent - we are not sitting here like a rabbit in front of the snake. ”

Events

The next live streams: Vollmer family and special guests (June 12), Silke Aichhorn (June 19), Caro Roth Duo (June 26), Ecco DiLorenzo an his Innersoul (July 10), Claus-Peter Lieckfeld ( July 24), Christian Springer (August 7) and Konstantin Wecker with Sarah, Tamara and Miriam (August 19).
