In Paris , thousands of people gathered on the Place de la République at the call of the committee Adama Traoré, young black man who died in July 2016 after his arrest by gendarmes in the Paris region, were trapped in the square, the police having blocked access to the Place de l'Opéra, where the demonstrators wanted to go.

Clashes broke out during the demonstration, and led the police to make 26 arrests. 12 of them were identity activists, who had deployed a red and white banner at the top of a building with the inscription: " Justice for the victims of anti-white racism ".

In Lyon , where around 2000 people had gathered, the situation became tense at the end of the afternoon, leading the police to carry out five arrests. In Marseilles , the police stressed that " the intentions of the demonstrators were not only peaceful ", noting projectile jets on the police, a burnt out facade of a bar and even some barricades. The police carried out three arrests.

In Nantes , a thousand people marched at the end of the afternoon, while in the east smaller processions marched in Metz (200), Nancy (550) and Besançon (550). However, no interpellation was reported.
