London: Black Lives Matter protester saves opponents and is celebrated as a "hero"

The photo, which shows Hutchinson with the injured man over his shoulder, had caused a sensation on social media and was featured on the front pages of several British newspapers on Monday. He was celebrated as a "hero" and "merciful Samaritan" . The personal trainer, who is already a grandfather, intervened with several friends when the white man, a suspected  hooligan, was surrounded and attacked by Black Lives Matter protesters . "We did what we had to do, we saved someone from getting killed," Hutchinson told the BBC.

At a # blacklivesmatter rally in London on Saturday, protesters clashed with counter-demonstrators. There were brawls in which one of the counter-demonstrators went down. Patrick Hutchinson, a # blacklivesmatter activist, grabbed the apparently dazed man and carried him to the police station in safety. Little is known about the rescued, according to eyewitnesses, he is said to belong to the right-wing scene. His protector obviously didn't care. Most of them were mostly peaceful . There were clashes between demonstrators and police in Parliament Square. Hundreds of people there followed an appeal by hooligans and far-right groups to protect monuments from anti-racism activists. More than 100 people were arrested.

Update of June 15, 11:13 p.m .: Since the autopsy of the American Rayshard Brooks , who was killed in a police operation in Atlanta in the US state of Georgia, one thing is certain: the 27-year-old has clearly died from the shots of a white police officer. Now the dramatic incident is classified as a homicide . By the middle of the week, prosecutors would decide whether to charge Garrett Rolfe, the police officer who allegedly fired the fatal gunshot , District Attorney Paul Howard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper .

Howard said in a statement that two witnesses should be heard before the indictment is decided. The prosecutor told CNN that Brooks didn't seem to pose a threat to anyone . "The fact that it escalated until his death just seems inappropriate," said Howard, according to the broadcaster. A charge of murder or negligent homicide is possible .

In the United States - and especially in Atlanta - Brooks' death had further fueled protests against racism and police violence . The demonstrations have continued since a brutal police operation in Minneapolis on May 25 when African American George Floyd was killed .
