US researchers have revealed that the polio vaccine may help prevent the emerging corona virus.
The researchers said in a study published by the American "Science" magazine that there is many evidence that shows the ability of polio vaccines to prevent Corona virus "Covid 19", especially those taken by mouth, it is widely available, where more than one billion doses were produced and used Annually in more than 140 countries.
The research team, led by Konstantin Shumakov and Dr. Robert Gallo at the University of Maryland Medical School who helped discover HIV, confirmed that some of the current vaccines could help prevent corona virus, particularly polio vaccine.
The researchers pointed out that the polio vaccine has other advantages over other vaccines, as it has succeeded in eradicating polio worldwide, stressing that this vaccine can stimulate the immune system against the virus and that the risk of complications is very low and will only occur in one in every 3 million Dosage and in immunocompromised children mostly.
The study indicated that the vaccine reduced the effects of bacterial diarrheal disease in infants and provided some kind of protection against middle ear diseases in addition to protection from respiratory infections in children.
Poliovirus and inborn coronavirus are positive-striped RNA viruses, and therefore both are likely to be affected by common fungal immune mechanisms.
