The University of Hong Kong submitted documents to the Town Planning Board a few days ago, and proposed to build a teaching complex in the AC Hall, Sing Tao Building and other original sites. In the future, the building will have classrooms, offices and laboratories.

The total area of the application site is 7,600 square meters. In the future, it is planned to build a teaching complex with a maximum height of 12 floors. According to the information, in addition to the AC hall, the application location also covers the Shuhong Building, Xingdao Building, and the University Chapel, which means that the relevant buildings will need to be demolished in the future.

According to documents from the Town Planning Board, applicants want to relax the ground ratio and limit the height of the 10th floor of the building to 12th floor.
With reference to the documents, classrooms, offices, laboratories, etc. will be set up in the building in the future, and student recreation facilities will also be set up in the basement. The building will be equipped with a pedestrian walkway to connect to the broadcast channel and also connect the walkway to Waterloo Road.
