Berlin - The police are asking the population for help. It's about the case of an 81-year-old man who died on Saturday  .  He died on June 13 of serious injuries sustained in an accident a month earlier. 

In Berlin's Lankwitz district, a BVG bus had driven along Kamenzer Damm when an unknown truck driver got off the lane with his vehicle and encountered oncoming traffic for as yet unexplained reasons . The driver of the bus managed according to police immediately emergency braking one, probably the only reason was a head-on collision can be prevented. 

Berlin police are looking for truck drivers 

The truck driver then left the scene of the accident without stopping. However, the 81-year-old passenger fell so badly on the bus that he suffered serious injuries to his shoulder and thigh and had to be taken to hospital immediately . The man now succumbed to these injuries. 

The Berlin police now ask:

  • Who has observed the traffic accident and can provide information on the course of the accident?
  • Who can provide information about the previously unknown truck and its driver ?

The description of the accident from the police press release in full:

"The police in Berlin are hoping for information from the population after a traffic accident in Lankwitz. According to current knowledge, a BVG bus drove at Kamenzer Damm towards Paul-Schneider-Straße yesterday morning. For unknown reasons, at around 8.30 a.m. an unknown truck driver with his white truck, box body with blue inscription, got off his lane and entered oncoming traffic. A collision between the two vehicles, which are now approaching each other, could only be prevented due to the initiated braking by the 27-year-old bus driver. While the truck driver moved away from the scene of the accident without stopping, an 81-year-old passenger crashed while braking on the bus and suffered serious injuries to his shoulder and thigh. The injured senior was brought to a hospital for inpatient treatment by alerted rescue workers. ”

In a similarly dramatic case, the police in Schwarzach, Lower Bavaria, need your help. There a youth was found dead on Autobahn 3 *, no trace of the person who caused the accident is missing.
