Lod District Court on Tuesday announced that it had rejected the inmate's request for prisoner Zvi Gur, who was convicted of murdering 8-year-old Oron Jordan in 1980, for early release for medical reasons. A petition hearing was held last Thursday. In doing so, the court actually accepted the State Attorney's position and the parole committee's position, which rejected the release request less than two weeks ago.

Gore's defense attorneys, Eyal Alon and Dan Katz, attached medical documents to the petition to confirm Gore's claim, as well as an IPS report, which states that he has no disciplinary violations. If the court decides to release him, it was expected that he would move to Arad with his wife, where he spent his vacations out of prison, to which he regularly went.

73-year-old Gore's request was rejected by the parole committee on Monday, after it ruled that his release could endanger the victim's family because of his personality traits. Recall that Gore was initially sentenced to life in prison, but in 1999 his sentence was set by 2025. He has been in prison for 40 years.

Last year, he asked the parole board to release him after deducting two-thirds of his imprisonment, but reiterated it on the recommendation of the chairman of the committee. Written last April with a recommendation for release. ”Following his medical condition, for which he is undergoing chemotherapy and due to the dangers posed to his life from the outbreak of the corona epidemic. I will ask for the prisoner’s release for health reasons, ”Dr. Frankel wrote.

Despite a request written by Dr. Frankel, on May 7, the doctor changed his opinion, claiming that Gore could continue treatment at the jail. IPS officials noted that a neuro-examination had been conducted that found that his health was improving. Due to this new opinion presented by the IPS doctor, the committee rejected the release request.

We will further add that the prosecution objected to the release. The Jordan family, through Brother Roy, also expressed opposition to the release. Gore himself argued in the committee that he was not dangerous and did not intend to harm anyone. "I'm not a prisoner, but a tool and a summer break. I want to spend what is left with my family and want to end my life in my home."
