(CNN Spanish) -  The Federal Police of Brazil executed 21 search and seizure orders on Tuesday morning, within the framework of the investigation of alleged violations of the National Security Law in street demonstrations that, since April, call for the closure of the National Congress and the Federal Supreme Court.

The operation was authorized by the rapporteur of the summary Alexandre de Moraes, at the request of the deputy attorney general of the Republic, Humberto Jacques. The deployment of the authorities covered at least six states and aimed to gather evidence on the origin of resources and the financing structure of the groups suspected of "acts against democracy," according to the police statement.

According to the official Agencia Brasil, some of the raids were carried out at the residences of Bolsonarista deputy Daniel Silveira and journalist Allan dos Santos, from the Terça Livre portal.

The legislator tweeted that the investigation is "absurd" and also stated that it is "a battle" that will fight "the truth". For his part, Dos Santos also defended himself on Twitter. In reference to the operation, he stated: “They were already because of everything I have. They just want to humiliate me. ” "They will never shut me up," he said.

These operations take place a day after Sara Winter, activist in favor of the government of President Jair Bolsonaro, was provisionally detained on Monday, accused of threats against members of the Supreme Federal Court, according to Agencia Brasil.

On Winter's Twitter account it was published on Monday that he is a “political prisoner”, and his arrest was described as “an attack on democracy and fundamental rights”.
