The farmers in Homs began subscribing to the seed potatoes imported for the spring loop for the coming season at the branch of the General Establishment for Propagation of Seed in the governorate.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Ahmed Youssef Ahmed, said in a statement to the SANA reporter that farmers can apply for subscription at the branch’s headquarters in Homs until the second of next July.
And Ahmed indicated that the subscription is made through the personal identity of the farmer exclusively and the amount of 5 tons for each farmer, indicating that the first batch per ton is 500 thousand pounds paid in two installments the first 100 thousand pounds during the subscription and the rest of the amount will be completed later.
It is noteworthy that the potato farmers in Homs continue to harvest the potato crop for the current year at a high rate, and the cultivated area reached 483,8 hectares in various regions.
