To ensure the success of the exam process for the 2020 session, which begins on the 21st of June and continues until the 14th of next July, taking into account the precautionary measures to address the Corona virus, the Ministry of Education has put in place a working mechanism for public examinations that aims to provide the requirements and healthy and comfortable atmosphere for students of basic and secondary education certificates during the submission of their exams .
Education Minister Emad Al-Azab explained that the ministry ended its preparations for public exams with action steps that translated the great effort made by the state to make the exam process successful, whether related to placing questions from within the book with all the materials that accurately measure students ’earnings and take into account the levels of students“ distinguished, good, middle and below the middle ”so that they are Clear and direct, unbearable interpretation, the development of ladders and correction centers, an increase in the number of exam centers, issuance of supervision and control instructions, in addition to coordination with the relevant authorities to secure the necessary protection for the exam process.
Minister Al-Azab confirmed during a press conference at the Ministry of Education today that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria have negatively affected the education sector, as the ministry is making a great effort to secure the requirements of the exam and educational process from the exam paper in addition to the difficulty of securing the textbook, but it will take place at the beginning of the school year The next is securing the textbook despite the coercive measures, indicating that two competitions have been conducted, the number of whom each will accept 15,000 competitors to supplement the educational process.
Minister Al-Azab indicated that 43 additional exam centers were created in the Al-Raqqa governorate for the secondary certificate, indicating that all question banks will be from the scheduled school curriculum, and optional questions have been included in most of the exam materials this year.
On the mechanism of securing students coming from the regions of the existence of terrorist organizations, Al-Azab indicated that their number exceeds 30,000 students, who will arrive tomorrow, and what has been prepared to receive them has been prepared so that they can submit their exams according to necessary health procedures and conditions in cooperation with the concerned authorities and international organizations, in addition to the arrival of 107 students from students Syrians coming from Lebanon to take the high school exams, where they were subjected to a full medical examination upon their arrival and to provide medical care for them throughout the period of their stay by the school health, and special examination centers for foreign students were created to ensure that they do not mix with any other student.
The number of registered public exams exams according to Al-Azab reached 557348 students distributed to 4901 exam centers, an increase from 11,898 students, including 301,145 students for basic education distributed to 2501 centers and 210027 students for general secondary education in its scientific and literary branches distributed to 1900 centers and 39853 students for vocational secondary distributed over 409 exam centers.
Regarding cutting off communications during public exams, Minister Al-Azab indicated that there is no other way than cutting it this year, but the ministry will work to prevent this in the coming year.
As for the Ras Al-Maarah region, which is imposed on the quarantine by the Ministry of Health, Al-Azab said that if the stone is not removed from the area during the next few days, the Ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, will open special exam centers for students in it to ensure that no opportunity is lost in front of any student from the students.
Minister Al-Azab pointed out that sterilization of all exam centers will begin next Saturday, before the start of general exams, one day, noting that canceling the supplementary course this year came to reduce mixing, but the ministry provided exam benefits to students, including deleting a good part of the research that students did not take on Study seats, provided that this loss is compensated at the beginning of the next academic year.
The Minister Al-Azab stated that every student who had a smear to detect corona infection under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and its positive result was "injured", and the Ministry of Education would provide him with a solution to be able to submit his examination, stressing that the health and safety of students is a basic priority and most important of any consideration.
