The Royal Moroccan Navy " rescued, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in the Mediterranean, 93 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa who were on board makeshift boats ," reported the Moroccan news agency (MAP).

These migrants, including fifteen women and several minors, were " transported unharmed to the port of Nador " in north-eastern Morocco, " after receiving the necessary care aboard Navy units ," added MAP, which cites a military source.
Located at the northwestern tip of Africa, the kingdom is a country of transit for many migrants, mostly people from sub-Saharan Africa. In 2019, around 74,000 attempts to " irregular immigration " to the Spanish neighbor were aborted, according to Moroccan authorities.
