A first for several weeks. The commemoration of the historic call of June 18, 1940 to continue the fight against Nazi Germany took place this Thursday in the presence of many personalities. Even if, epidemic requires, the public has not been authorized. After a visit to the Liberation Museum at the Invalides in Paris, Emmanuel Macron went to the traditional ceremony at the Mont Valérien memorial in Suresnes to commemorate this call by General de Gaulle, before crossing the English Channel by plane.

Welcomed in light scattered rains by Prince Charles, the French head of state then went to 10 Downing Street to meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Under the cameras, the two men respected social distances, sometimes with humor.
