Update from June 16, 7.53 a.m .: The heavy rains from the weekend softened the ground. On Monday (June 15th), the floor in Forchheim sank directly by up to one meter at a residential building. A wall in the garden collapsed, there was damage to a smaller building in the garden. Thomas Binder, the homeowner, shared his impressions with News5 . "A look out of the window, the first shock came, I ran out straight away and saw that my wall to the neighboring property was history." 

There were cracks in the ground throughout the garden. The path that led directly past the house is in ruins. There is a risk that the house will slip into an excavation pit: "Of course there is the fear that we should not spend the night in the house now," explains Binder. The THW was there with a large contingent and tries to stabilize the slope. For this purpose, material is poured into the construction pit and on the slope. The homeowner now hopes that the measures by the fire brigade and the THW will have an effect and the house will not be damaged.

Weather in Bavaria: DWD warns of constant rain

Update from June 15, 9:30 p.m .: According to the German Weather Service (DWD) , an official severe weather warning continues to apply to southeast Bavaria . The constant rain - partly stormy - will therefore continue until Tuesday noon. In the north and east of the Free State individual thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected until Tuesday afternoon.

Official severe weather warning for several counties in Bavaria: flood risk

This applies to the districts of Traunstein, Berchtesgadener Land, Rosenheim, Ebersberg, Mühldorf am Inn and Altötting. The DWD reports: “After previously observed rainfall of 20 to 30 l / m², there is a prolonged rain of varying intensity. Rainfall between 40 l / m² and 60 l / m² is expected again. ”The warning is valid until Tuesday morning (June 16), 6 a.m.

There is also a weather warning for continuous rain * for Munich.

Dam break in the Upper Palatinate: community partially flooded

Update from 12.56 p.m .: After a  dam break , a part of the Upper Palatinate municipality  Vorbach (district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab) was partially flooded. The passage of a nearby pond was broken on Monday at 2.15 a.m., said a spokesman for the Integrated Control Center North Upper Palatinate. "As a result, the stream developed into a torrent." In the Oberbibrach district, the water was sometimes more than a meter high, about  a quarter of all houses  were affected, the spokesman said. According to initial information, no one was injured.

Around 150 forces from the Bavarian Red Cross , technical relief agency, water guard and eleven fire departments were deployed. The spokesman said that the situation was under control around 7 a.m. The control center was alerted a total of 137 times between Sunday and Monday noon because of the storm.

And the DWD continues to warn of heavy rain in many parts of Bavaria . Districts are affected in Middle Franconia (district of Erlangen-Höchstadt, Fürth), in the Upper Palatinate (Regensburg or Kelheim) to Upper Bavaria (Garmisch-Partenkirchen). 

The DWD writes: “After previously observed rainfall of 15 to 25 l / m², continuous rain of varying intensity occurs. Rainfall between 35 l / m² and 50 l / m² is expected again. ”The warning also applies until early Tuesday morning (six o'clock). Single storms and small-grain hail await the meteorologists in the north and east of Bavaria.

Bad weather in Bavaria: Bad luck in Bayreuth - Two people struck by lightning

There was an accident in Bayreuth: Two people were struck by lightning on a walk together on Sunday evening . Around 6.45 p.m., a 22-year-old woman and her 29-year-old companion got caught in a storm at the Röhrensee in Bayreuth, as the police said on Monday. The woman had suffered severe burn injuries from the lightning, the man was only slightly injured, it was said. Both came to a hospital. The police could not say whether the strollers were struck by the same lightning. The police initially made no further statements regarding the condition of the woman.
