The Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, condemned the removal by the United Nations of Saudi Arabia from its annual report on violations of children's rights in conflict.
The Yemeni news agency Saba quoted Sharif as saying in a statement today that removing the name of Saudi Arabia from the list of shame is a new setback for the efforts made by the United Nations and will encourage the Saudi regime and its forces to continue its crimes against the children of Yemen, calling on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to retract his decision in order to protect Children of Yemen.
A member of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, had confirmed earlier that the United Nations striking out the name of Saudi Arabia from its annual report on violations of children's rights in conflicts shows "the chaos of the United Nations and its disregard for humanitarian standards."
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres deleted from his annual report on child rights violations published yesterday by the Saudi aggression in Yemen, claiming "a significant retreat in these crimes."
