The popularity of Edouard Philippe continues to climb (+8) and the Prime Minister widens the gap with Emmanuel Macron (+1), relegated 16 points behind, according to a BVA poll released Friday, June 19.

With 54% of favorable opinions, Edouard Philippe, very exposed in the management of the Covid-19 crisis, gained 13 points in two months and a majority of French people now declare that they have a good opinion of him. 45% (-8) on the other hand have a bad opinion of the Prime Minister, according to this survey for Orange and RTL.
Edouard Philippe progresses in particular with LR sympathizers (+13), but also those of the left except PS (+15) and even of the PS itself (+5).
All of the recent polls show the head of government in strong progression.
A few days after his televised speech, the rating of the head of state remains almost stable at 38%, and 62% (=) of French respondents have a bad opinion of him, according to BVA.
In addition, more than six out of ten French people (61%) do not want Emmanuel Macron to change Prime Minister, against 38% of a contrary opinion.
Three years after taking office, the executive couple remains more popular than its predecessors: at the same time of the quinquennium, François Hollande was credited with 26% and Manuel Valls with 40% favorable opinions in this barometer.
Finally, more than three-quarters of French people (77%) consider that deconfinement is going well in the country, against 23% of an opposite opinion.

Survey carried out online from June 17 to 18 among 1,003 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error from 1.4 to 3.1 points.
