According to the ARS, which has been increasing free tests since the end of May in the Paris region, thirty cases of coronavirus were identified during two screening operations carried out on June 11 and 17 in this commune in the Paris region.
With these cases, " we have a positivity rate a little more than 3%, while on operations carried out elsewhere in Île-de-France, we are on average at 0.5%, " said the director general of the 'ARS, Aurélien Rousseau, during a press conference. " This has led us to strengthen our vigilance, " he continued, indicating that the screening operations would be reinforced in the coming days to " understand " the causes of this " extra incidence ".
" At this stage, we have not found a cluster ", that is to say at least three cases of contamination over a period of seven days in the same community, explains Aurélien Rousseau, who mentions a " disseminated " dissemination . But " we keep looking, " he says.
Five screening operations
In total, five virological screening operations are planned for Wednesday, notably in a shopping center and social hotels. Serological tests, allowing to date the date when the person had Covid-19, will also be offered. " The question is whether there is a resumption of epidemic activity " or if the cases detected are linked to " past " over- contamination , explains the director of the ARS. " For the moment, we have no information on whether the epidemic is growing, " he insists.
In addition to the new test campaigns, several initiatives have been implemented with the municipality to remind people of the importance of barrier gestures, drawing on the leaders of religious communities in this city of 63,000 inhabitants. A municipal decree was also issued to ask residents to wear the mask in shops, while the reopening of certain public places - originally scheduled for Monday - has been suspended.
