The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in the Deir Ezzor Governorate seized a truck loaded with tomato Lord material that is not suitable for human consumption before entering the governorate’s markets, in addition to confiscating large quantities of unknown food smuggled in a number of warehouses in the city.

The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Bassam Al-Hazaa, said in a statement to a SANA reporter that the Directorate's patrols seized a truck carrying about 25 tons of tomato paste material showing swelling in the packages and emitting an unpleasant smell, as the results of analyzing the samples that were sent to the central laboratory at the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection showed It is not fit for human consumption.

Al-Hazaa pointed out that the consumer protection patrols also seized a number of warehouses containing smuggled goods of unknown origin, most of which were Turkish in origin, and confiscated the smuggled goods and materials that included mortadella, vegetable oil, olive oil, nuts, cheese, baby milk, yeast, and energy drinks.

Al-Hazaa explained that the necessary seizures were organized and that the violators were referred to the competent court.
