An indictment and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings were filed today by the Israel Police's prosecution unit against a suspect in the attack by former Knesset Member Yehuda Glick. A further statement was made against other suspects.
The former Knesset member responded in his Twitter account to the indictment and attacked the authorities. The tweet reads: "The Israeli police what is wrong with you? Apparently the police believe this is a debate about a parking space ?! No hate crime or non-nationalist hostility. Assault and violence."

On June 4, Glick arrived in the Wadi Jose area for a condolence visit to the family of Iyad al-Hilak, who was shot by police a few days earlier, near the Jerusalem Gate. Glick was wounded and turned to Shaare Zedek Hospital, where it was reported that Glick suffered only dry and light injuries.

Following a report reached by police on June 4, according to which a resident of Jerusalem who came to the Wadi Jose area was attacked by a number of suspects, police and rescue forces arrived, who evacuated Glick for medical treatment.
Following the incident, a targeted police investigation, which included various investigative actions, led to the identification of several suspects (residents of East Jerusalem aged 25-18) in the act, who were arrested and brought for questioning.
Today, the Israel Police Claims Unit filed an indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings against a resident of East Jerusalem in his 20s, and two other suspects were given a prosecutor's statement. The indictment attributes to the defendant an offense of actual assault and sabotage by two or more.
The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended the main suspect's arrest until June 22. Police say: "The Israeli police are very serious about violent incidents of any kind, and will use all means and levels to locate and abide by the same violent offenders."
