In cooperation with a number of events, the village council of Al-Muhajimir village in Sweida launched an initiative to sell vegetables and fruits from the product to the consumer directly at cost prices.
The mayor of Al-Muhajimir Council, Thaer Al-Atrash, stated to a reporter to SANA that the initiative includes offering quantities of various kinds of vegetables and cherries and watermelon red and yellow within a port designated for this purpose from the municipality with shopping directly from farmers ’lands or the vegetable market through mechanisms provided by volunteers from the local community.
Al-Atrash pointed out the importance of this initiative and its role in alleviating the financial burdens on the people of the village in these circumstances, pointing to the presence of efforts currently at the council in coordination with the governorate to rent food supplies and sell them to citizens at cost.
