A 14-year-old teenager was indicted after the fire that claimed the lives of three people from the same family in a building in Marseille, the prosecutor's office announced on Saturday 20 June.

The minor, unknown to the police, had been referred for " deliberate destruction by fire resulting in death ". He was indicted "in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution " but placed under judicial supervision, when the prosecution requested his detention on remand.

The hearings of several adolescents had shed light on the conditions for the start of the fire that occurred last Sunday, shortly after 6 p.m. in a 13-story building in the city of Lauriers in the 13th arrondissement of Marseille.
