In order to provide the new graduates with training skills that contribute to their entry into the permanent job market in a qualified manner, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor started the implementation of the second phase of the new graduate support program that launched its first stage in 2018.

In a statement to SANA, Director of the Labor Market Observatory in the Ministry, Mahmoud Alkwa, explained that the second stage of the program will be implemented in stages to accommodate a maximum of 4000 opportunities for new graduates from the academic years extending from 2018 to 2021 from universities and government institutes in various governorates according to the sequence of higher rates in the basic specializations The required branch determined by the Ministry who are not older than 35 years at the date of graduation.

Alcoa pointed out that 50% of the number of opportunities were allocated to the wounded military and civilian families of the martyrs and the like "husband - children - brothers" and in the absence of this percentage, it will be filled to the rest of the graduates applying to benefit from this program according to the sequence of their graduation rates.

The program targets new graduates from universities and government institutes as determined by the terms of reference of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor required to follow the program with it and with the associated authorities and public bodies wishing to benefit from the program according to their needs and according to Kua the nominal lists of accepted graduates come from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research or the Ministry Education or the Ministry of Tourism according to specific criteria.

Alcoa felt that the program contributes through the material reward that is offered to the graduate, amounting to 25 thousand Syrian pounds per month during the six-month benefit period, by achieving an economic benefit for the graduate, as well as providing the minimum required practical experience that enriches the biography of the beneficiaries and partially filling the needs of the authorities. The public, who are newly graduated from the temporary contract, noting that the program also contributes to providing databases of new entrants to the labor market at the Labor Market Observatory, analyzing their needs and achieving more linking of education outputs to the needs of the labor market.

According to Alcoa, 960 male and female graduates from universities and government institutes of various specializations benefited, except for engineering and medical colleges, from the first phase of the program that ended last January and targeted graduates of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 courses.

The support program for new graduates comes within the targeted program package launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to enable young people to enter the labor market and includes the programs implemented by the eight youth support and empowerment centers in a number of governorates in addition to the Syrian countryside empowerment program and the program to support and enable the demobilized from compulsory and reserve science service .
